Area 937 Community Outreach seeks volunteers, clients

Area 937 food and clothing pantries, established in May 2009 as a ministry of the Hillsboro Church of Christ, is now Area 937 Community Outreach Inc., an independent 501(c)(3) tax exempt, charitable nonprofit organization.
They have immediate openings for 20 new clients to shop for free food and clothing. Go to www.Area937.org to sign up. Ohio state poverty guidelines apply and can be found on their website. Area 937 is a 100-percent volunteer organization.
They are looking for volunteers who can give 2 1/2 hours each month. The more volunteers they get will allow them to take in even more families. Please go to their website if you’re interested in volunteering.
There are two ways the community can partner with Area 937. First, they are looking for 100 families or businesses to go to their website and donate $10 a month to help support operational costs. Second, Area 937 Community Outreach has rolled out a monthly nonperishable food drive to afford the community an opportunity to help low-income families struggling with providing food for their household.
Food donations can be dropped off during business hours for the participating locations:
• People’s Bank at 101 Harry Sauner Road, Hillsboro;
• Chuck Wait Tire at 21 East Main St. Mowrystown;
• Merle Norman Cosmetics at 123 South High St. Hillsboro; and
• Gibbs Insurance Associates at 131 West Walnut St. (across from HPD).
