Annual Lynchburg Village Christmas will return Dec. 9-10

The village of Lynchburg will host its 19th Annual Village Christmas this year on Dec. 9 and 10 from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. both days.
This year's event is being organized by Bill and Angie McTague, owners of the Lynchburg Antique Mall. The McTagues credit the Village Christmas's popularity to local artisans who open their homes on the 9th and 10th of December to sell their hand-crafted items, such as hand-painted items, secretly-guarded family recipe baked goods, many sewn items, craft items and homemade jewelry, just to mention a few. The businesses also participate with extended hours and refreshments. The will be free carriage rides both days from 3-7 p.m.
The Lynchburg branch of the Southern Hills Community Bank (formerly Homebuilders Association) has generously donated a flat-screen TV to be raffled off during the event.
The McTagues were truly touched by one of the sponsors of the free carriage rides when one of them called and asked if more money was needed for the carriage rides and to please let them know if they needed to give more.
"This year we also have another resident helping to sponsor the carriage rides," Mr. McTague said. "The Christmas Spirit is alive and well in the village."
The McTagues would like to thank the Southern Hills Community Bank for their donation of the flat-screen TV to be raffled and would like to thank Tom Pitzer Trucking of Hillsboro; Davis-Turner Funeral Home of Lynchburg; Rammel Poured Walls of Lynchburg; Terry's Grocery of Lynchburg; Dan and Sharon McCloud, managers of the Lynchburg Commons; and Roger, Judy, Pam and Taylor Turner of Lynchburg for sponsoring the free carriage rides.
