4 Them We Fight hosts event in memory of Jessie Lynch

The group 4 Them We Fight hosted a walk in memory of Jessie Lynch Saturday, Nov. 4 at Alexandria Point Park in Portsmouth.

The walk was held on what would have been Lynch’s 37th birthday. She passed away from an overdose on May 22, 2020.

“Jessica struggled with addiction just like so many others did,” Lynch’s mother, Tonya Aber said. “Her addiction really hit hard after a car accident, and she was prescribed pain pills.

“With hundreds of thousands now lost to addiction and fentanyl, I want to take hope and recovery back to Portsmouth. This was the first year of many more to come … We can and do recover.”

The event also included guest speakers Bambi Adams and Megan Stewart, both from Kentucky, and Anna Elizabeth of Hillsboro. The walk was held in memory of the angels lost to this terrible disease and to stand tall and fight for brothers and sisters out there recovering out loud.

4 Them We Fight is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to support communities and families affected by fentanyl poisoning and illicit drug overdoses.
