OSHP investigating fatal crash in Adams County

The Ohio State Highway Patrol - Georgetown Post is currently investigating a one-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on Wheat Ridge Road, approximately 2/10 mile east of Unity Road, Oliver Township, Adams County. The crash occurred Oct. 16 at approximately 11:20 a.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2022 Dodge Ram, operated by Robert W Scott, 65, of West Union, was driving westbound on Wheat Ridge Road. Mr. Scott’s vehicle drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. Mr. Scott was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.     

Mr. Scott was pronounced deceased at the scene by Adams County EMS.

The following agencies assisted at the traffic crash – Adams County Sheriff’s Department, Adams County EMS and Scott and Combs Towing.

The crash remains under investigation by the Georgetown Patrol Post.
