OHSAA approves Ripley's transfer to Southeast District effective 2024-25
The Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington Local School District has been approved to transfer from the Southwest District to the Southeast District for athletic competition, effective with the 2024-25 school year, according to a post by the district.
The RULH district announced Tuesday that the Ohio High School Athletic Association has approved the district’s request to “discontinue its membership in the Southwest District and transfer its affiliation to the Southeast District.”
“We appreciate the insights and counter points provided as we assessed the validity of this request,” OHSAA Executive Director Douglas Ute wrote to the district. “Based on a thoughtful consideration of each factor, Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington’s request to transfer to the Southeast District has been approved, effective for the 2024-25 school year.”
Located in Brown County, Ripley is a member of the Southern Hills Athletic Conference. Of the 10 teams in the conference, eight compete in the Southeast District, with Ripley and Fayetteville being members of the Southwest District.
