Tanya Jean Scott

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tanya Jean Scott, who departed this world on Aug. 20, 2026, just days shy of her 52nd birthday.

Born on Aug. 23, 1974, in Berwyn, Ill., Tanya dedicated her life to caring for others, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met. As a devoted caregiver, she exemplified compassion, kindness, and an unwavering spirit that touched countless lives. She is preceded by her parents, Antonio and Charlene (Bryant) Santiago.

Residing in Hillsboro, Ohio, Tanya embraced her role as a beloved mother and grandmother, often saying that her greatest treasures were her children and grandchildren. 

She is survived by her children, Anthony (Faye) Scott, Kyla ( Josh) Esterline, Savannah (Kelton) Anderson and Jonathan Scott; her cherished grandchildren, Ellie Scott, Rylynn Mango, Leo Esterline, Kinsley Esterline, Adelynn Anderson and Avery Anderson; a brother, Steven Kaczmarek; a sister, Christine Hampton; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

Tanya's journey through life was marked by resilience, warmth, and a profound love for her family, particularly for her Hispanic heritage, which colored her worldview with vibrancy and passion. She will be remembered not only for her caring nature but also for the joy she brought to family gatherings and her unwavering support in times of need.

Funeral services will be noon Wednesday, Aug. 26 at the Southside Praise and Worship Center. Burial will follow at the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday at the church.
