Sandra Lee Burgess (Berner) of Greenfield passed away on the morning of Dec. 26, 2022. She was 63 years old and had enjoyed 42 years of marriage with her dear husband, Elmer.
Raised in Florida by Leander and Grace Berner alongside her siblings, Cathy Dymeck (Berner) and Bill Berner, she later moved to Ohio with Elmer, where she put down her roots and made a family of her own.
Together they raised four boys, Charles (Cristina), Jason (Mindy), Jesse (Phoebe), and Aaron Burgess. “I’ve earned each one of my gray hairs raising these boys,” Sandi would say. She was honored to be called “Grandma” by Kaylee, Kaleb and little Lucas.
May 1981 was a turning point in her life when she dedicated herself to God as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Shy by nature, she courageously shared her hope of an earthly paradise for the rest of her days. She loved to read and was especially zealous in studying the Bible.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. at the Greenfield Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 12374 Lovers Lane, Greenfield.
