Ruth Anne Washburn, 83, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025 at OSU Medical Center in Columbus.
 
She was born April 22, 1942, in Leesburg, the daughter of Edward Lee and Susan Ruth (Fullwiler) Carson.
 
Ruth Anne was a 1960 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and was a member of the Greenfield First United Methodist Church, Greenfield Lions Club, 20th Century Club, and numerous church organizations. She was a mother, homemaker, and former retail clerk in several different stores.
 
She is survived by her husband, Terry G. Washburn, whom she married on Jan. 24, 1975; five sons and four daughters, David (Dana) Cope of Statesville, N.C., Suzanne (Bruce) Free of South Salem, Michelle (Brad) Bissinger of Marysville, Mark S. (Katie) Washburn of Muncie, Ind., Heather (Jason) Cumbo of Greenfield, Evan (Rheagan) Washburn of Buda, Texas, James D. (Maredeth) Washburn of Hilliard, Zebulun (Ana) Washburn of Columbus and Chay (Brandon) Collins of Hillsboro; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Jean) Carson of Leesburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Leroy Cope, on Sept. 11, 1967; one son, Thomas Lee Cope; one sister, Carolyn Cooper; and both parents.
 
Funeral service will be  11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15 at the Greenfield First United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Armstrong and Pastor Mike Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery of Leesburg.
 
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14 at the church.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Renovation Project of the First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 759, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133 or the Edward Lee McClain Alumni Association, P.O. Box 396, Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
 
The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family.
