Robert L. Rhoads, 78, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.  

He was born Dec. 15, 1946 in Washington Court House, the son of the late Ora and Thelma (Cox) Rhoads.  

Mr. Rhoads retired from the Landmark/Country Mark/Land O’ Lakes Grain Elevator in Washington Court House after 37 years of service. He enjoyed wood cutting, fishing and gardening, and spending time with his family.  

He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.  

He survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Linda S. (Straley) Rhoads, whom he married on June 30, 1968 in Washington Court House. He is also survived by two daughters, Denise Lister (Brian) and Bobbie (Keith) Jackson; four grandchildren, Curtis (Shianne) Lister, Courtney (Greg) Hall, Brittany (Derrick) Lopez and Kimberly (Ryan) McKinney; eight great- grandchildren; one sister, Joanne Davis; a special nephew, Mike Rhoads, as well as other nieces and nephews.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Clem Knisley; one sister; and three brothers.  

Graveside funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 at the Bainbridge Cemetery. Pastor Virgil Hawkins will officiate.
