Norman Carmean

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Carmean, 77, who departed this life on May 3, 2025.

Born into a farming family, Norman cultivated not only crops but also a passion for life on the farm that would sustain him throughout his years. He was a lifelong farmer, deeply connected to the earth and its rhythms, and he took great pride in the work he did. Norman also enjoyed a successful career at Hobart, where his contributions were felt by many, reflecting his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Norman honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that he approached with bravery and a sense of duty.

Norman is survived by his loving sons, Daryl and Travis (Miriam) Carmean, who carry forward his legacy; his brothers David, Carmean, Lester Carmean, Russell (Sue) Carmean and Tony Carmean; sister, Anna Kimberly, each of whom shared a bond that only siblings can understand; two grandchildren, Olivia and Norah Carmean; brother-in-law, Leon Trefz; sister-in-law, Barbara Carmean; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Together, they formed a tight-knit family that supported each other through life's challenges and celebrated its joys.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Perle and Donna Carmean; his wife, Roberta Carmean on March 17, 2023; brothers, John Carmean and Perle Carmean Jr.; and a sister, Mary Jo Trefz.

Graveside services will be noon Saturday May 10 at the Resthaven Memory Gardens.
