Mildred Jean (Barnhart) Snider, lovingly known as “Granny” to those close to her, age 91, of Rainsboro, Ohio passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2026 at home.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1934 in Ross County, the daughter of Clifford and Nancy Emily (Richards) Barnhart.
She was a 1952 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and worked at the U.S. Shoe Corporation for 38 ½ years before it closed.
She is survived by one daughter, Jean Ann (Frank) Knedler of Rainsboro; one grandson, Shawn (Jamie) Knedler of Hillsboro; one granddaughter, Shylah (Craig) Mustard of Leesburg; four great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Max Knedler, Garet and Guner Mustard, whom were the joy of her life; two sisters, Mary Ann Nace of Wilmington, Lillie (Tom) Meyers of Washington C.H.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn, Tania, and Heidi Barnhart all of Greenfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren J. “Bud” Snider on Feb. 17, 1983; six brothers, Clifford “Bub,” Donald “Jake,” Melvin, Raymond, Harold and Jerry Barnhart; two sisters, Betty Jane Goddard and Judy Carter; and both parents.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Jeff Barnhart officiating. Burial will follow in the Roads Cemetery in Rainsboro.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
