Mary Louise Swafford, 83, of Kingston, formerly of the Danville community, passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2023 at her home.
She was born May 30, 1939 in Buffalo, Minn., the daughter of the late Dale and Margie Stapleton.
Mary was a homemaker and had worked as a salesperson for Getz Jewelry and Tiara Glassware for several years and also had worked for Ethicon Surgical.
She is survived by her son, Ishmial Dewayne (Sandra) Swafford of Kingston; two grandchildren, Michael Miller of Texas and Rebekka (Thomas) Gey of Germany; six great-grandchildren, Hollie, Kelsie, Addie, Mabel, Eliza and Hayley; two sisters, Viola Castle of Paintsville, Ky. and Janet (Russell) Hemphill of Monett, Mo.; special son, Roy Rowlands of Danville; furry friends, Andy and Brenda; and beloved caregivers, Teresa “Sassy,” Tabby “Snake Handler,” Brooklyn “Hood Rat” and Kendra “the Quiet One.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Swafford, on May 3, 2011; daughter, Brenda Kay Aaron; sister, Barbara McFarland; and brothers, Raymond, James and Gerald Stapleton.
Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 26 at noon at the Calvary Community Chapel, 5846 S.R. 138, Hillsboro 45133. Rev. Don Piercy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hamer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. until noon at the church.
