Marilyn Allen Raike, 85, of Greenfield, Ohio passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022.
She was born Oct. 16, 1936 in Greenfield, the daughter of Maurice and Dorothy (Penn) Allen.
She was a 1954 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and later received her bachelor of science degree in education from Ohio University. She was a homemaker, loved spending time with her family, and was a member of the Greenfield First United Methodist Church. Her interests included reading, genealogy, quilting, puzzles and enjoyed many tours she took seeing different parts of the country.
Marilyn was formerly employed at the Highland County District Library in Hillsboro, the Greenfield Daily Times, taught first grade in Greenfield Schools and was a volunteer at GAMC.
She is survived by three sons, David A. (Natalie) Raike of Holualoa, Hawaii, Stephen M. (Sandy) Raike of Waukee, Iowa and Brian D. Raike of Greenfield; one son-in-law, Mark Rea of Washington C.H.; eight grandchildren, David and Daniel Raike, Cassandra Kamehaiku, Indigo and Bernard Raike, Lauren (Adam) Hodgin, Charlie (Madison) Raike, and Anna Raike; family member and dear friend, Jeri Raike; five great-grandchildren, Kelly, Kailana, Anderson, Lennon and Callan; a sister, Susan (Phillip) Cameron of Cincinnati; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Rea; one grandson, Brian Raike II; one sister, Gloria Raike; four brothers, Robert, Donald, Maurice Jr. and Thomas Allen; and both parents.
Memorial service will be noon Monday, Oct. 17 at Greenfield First United Methodist Church with Pastor Susan Keeton officiating.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Monday at the church.
