Lula M. Gallimore, 80, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2022 at Bethesda North Hospital.
She was born Nov. 21, 1941 in Sprigg, W.Va., the daughter of the late Earl C. and Lula (Roberts) Johnson.
Lula was a member of the Greater Life Assembly Church, and she loved singing with the congregation. She enjoyed fishing, auctions, playing any type of card game with her sisters and nieces, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Lula is survived by her husband, Garland Gallimore Sr., whom she married on Aug. 16, 1960; three sons, Bud (Florence) Gallimore Jr., Red (Joy) Gallimore, and Chris (Barb) Gallimore; 10 grandchildren, Josh (Jess) Gallimore, Ashely (James) Rainey, Matthew (Brianna) Gallimore, Luke (Emily) Gallimore, Mark Gallimore, Christopher (Angie) Gallimore Jr., Jessy Gallimore, Jamie Gallimore, Jason (Stacey) DeLong, and Shannon (Tim) Williams; 12 great-grandchildren, Samantha (Austin) Gorman, Devon Gallimore, Riley Gallimore, Jordyn Gallimore, Jack Gallimore, Toby Rainey, Benji Rainey, LaRayne Gallimore, Knox Gallimore, Aubri (Tre) Leblanc, Timmy William, and Maddie Williams; one great-great granddaughter, Brynlee Gorman; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Johnie Ray Gallimore; eight sisters, Joyce Blackburn, Estelene Prater, Shirley Ferrell, Vera Murphy, Lauretta Cisco, Juanita DeHart, Betty Mounts and Margaret Smith; four brothers, Ernest Johnson, Earl Johnson, Franklin Johnson and Eddy Orrell.
A celebration of Lula’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Greater Life Assembly Church, 12145 N. Shore Drive, Hillsboro. Pastor Red Gallimore will be officiating.
