Lloyd Allen Thackston

Lloyd Allen Thackston, 85, of Wheelersburg, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Concord Health & Rehab in Wheelersburg. 

Allen was born at home in Sugar Tree Ridge, Highland County, a son of the late Anderson Walter and Ella Hord Walker Thackston.

Allen graduated from Whiteoak High School in 1959 and worked as a car salesman in Wilmington. A lifelong car enthusiast, he enjoyed attending car shows, flea markets and watching people at flea markets. He and his family attended St. John Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his son, Marc Stephen (Bethany) Thackston of Wheelersburg; two sisters, Barbara (Wally) Rendel of Nicholasville, Ky., and Evelyn Thackston of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, Taylor Egbert, Baylie Thackston, Julie McKillop, Kaylee, Kymber, Kwynn and Kasyn Thackston; and six great-grandchildren.
   
In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Allen Thackston; and two brothers, Dewey Anderson Thackston and Ronald Lee Thackston.
   
Friends may visit the family at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth on Friday, May 15 from 3-4 p.m. A procession will depart at 4 p.m. for Vernon Cemetery, where a graveside service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Pastor Wally Rendel will officiate.
