Leona Kay (Everman) DeFrank, 81, of Port Clinton, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025 at her residence. She was born on August 4, 1943, in Greenfield, to the late Farris and Gladys (Young) Everman.

Known to many as Kay, she spent many years serving her community through her work at The Shade Tree in Lakeside, as a rental agent with Bolte/Street Sotheby’s Realty in Lakeside, and at the Dollar Tree in Port Clinton. Her warm personality and dedication made her a beloved presence wherever she worked.

Kay was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a deep love for the lake and cherished her time in Lakeside—especially enjoying dining out, taking in local entertainment, and visiting with friends. Her kindness, laughter, and love of life will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Lawrence (Annette) DeFrank and Lindy (Vincent Williamson) DeFrank; grandchildren, Gabriella DeFrank and Jason (Sabrina) DeFrank; great-granddaughter, Audrey DeFrank; brother, Richard (Vonna) Everman; close friends, Scott (Sandie) Howard; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters and brother in laws, Gladys Mae (Robert) Curry and Lena (Richard) Shaw.

Cremation will be handled with care by Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kay’s honor may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Immaculate Conception School.
