Leon Daryl Knisley

Leon Daryl Knisley, 81, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026 at CareCore at Westmoreland in Chillicothe.

He was born on July 10, 1944, in Hillsboro, the son of Thomas William and Laura Belle (Best) Knisley.

Leon was a 1962 graduate of Hillsboro High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a movie projectionist at theaters and drive-ins for years and later became a self-employed trucker.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas Knisley of Dayton and Robert L. Knisley of Dayton; one grandson, Joshua Knisley; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Jane Daugherty of Newark; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Malinda Hollis; and both parents.

Cremation took place and a graveside service was held Monday, May 11 in the Washington Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Combs officiating.

The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family.
