Karen Sue Cundiff, 64, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022 at Hospice of Dayton.  
 
She was born June 18, 1958 in Dayton, the daughter of the late Lon "Sunny" and Nora Cook Denney.
 
She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Hillsboro and the Uptown Business Association. She was a loving foster mom to 54 children. She enjoyed family trips with her husband, kids and grandkids, especially “Jeep” trips. Karen was an avid Ohio State and Cincinnati Bengals fan, but her favorite of all was her grandkids’ sporting events.

She took great pride in working side by side with her husband Rick, with whom she owned and operated Cundiff Flowers in uptown Hillsboro and Cundiff Tree Care.

Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Richard Cundiff, son, Chris Cundiff, and daughter, Jennifer (Greg) Maurer, all of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren, Gabe Maurer, Gwyn Maurer, Leara Howland, Grace Maurer, Conner Howland, Pyper Howland, Aveahlynn Howland and Kipton Howland; her father-in-law, Kendall Cundiff; a brother, Bob (Sue) Denney; brother-in-law, Randy Cundiff; sister-in-law, Sherri Cundiff; sister-in-law, Terri (Butch) Ulmer, numerous nieces, nephews and friends; two close friends, Amy Rivard and Jacklyn Thacker; and one chosen daughter, Angel Henson.
 
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Norma Jean Cundiff; niece, Belynda Denney; and a stepbrother, Richard Denney.
 
Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church of Hillsboro. Interment will follow in the Prospect Cemetery.
 
Friends will be received Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at the church.

The Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro is serving the family.
