John Ray Green, 74, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022 at home, surrounded by his family.
He was born Feb. 23, 1948, in Williamsburg, the son of the late Alonzo and Ramona (Morse) Green.
He was an auto mechanic, and he served in the U.S. Army. He was an avid fisherman, known as “Crappie Man.”
He is survived by his wife, Natalie “Nikki” (Pfeiffer) Green, whom he married Nov. 28, 1981; his children, John Ray (Teri) Green Jr. of Georgetown, Christopher Green of Lynchburg and Teresa (Derek) Drigotas of Wilmington; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; siblings, James Clayton (Nancy Thornton) Green of Fayetteville, Carla (Gary) Smith of Hillsboro, Dawn (William) Smart of Bainbridge, Amylynn Green of Greenfield and Donald (Holly) Florea of Hillsboro; stepmother, Donna Green of Mt. Orab, her children, Ashley (Josh) Humble of Georgetown, Amy (Shawn) Farrington and Dustin Haag of West Union; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Tammy Kelley and Michelle Behrman; a brother, Roger Green; and stepbrother, Carlos Hilee.
A celebration of life picnic will be held Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022 from 2:30-6:30 p.m. at Pattison Park Lakeside, at 2228 US Highway 50, Batavia, Ohio (in Owensville). Fishing will be available, so bring poles. People are asked to bring a bowl to share and drinks for their family; meat will be provided.
