James Walter Gossett, age 74, of Jamestown, Ohio passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

He was born June 17, 1950 in Greenfield, Ohio, the son of Wallace Bryan and Betty (James) Gossett.

He received his B.S. degree from University of Cincinnati and MBA degree from Wright State University. He was very adventurous and accomplished, and proud to be a private pilot.

He retired from Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, TX in 2016.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Campbell) Gossett whom he married on October 3, 1977; two sons, Rick Stamps, Jr. of Uxbridge, MA, Randy (Lara) Stam of Ft. Meyers Beach, FL; eight grandchildren, Brodie, Jenna, Brayden, Chloe, Emma, Randy II, Gracie, and Max; two great-grandchildren; Kylie-Jo, Dylan II; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Chuck Gossett; and both parents.

Memorial service will be 5:00 P.M. Monday, March 24 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Trevor Gossett officiating.

Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Monday, at the funeral home.
