Imogene S. Adams

Imogene S. Adams, 91 of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026 at Hillsboro Post Acute.  

She was born April 16, 1935 in Grayson, Ky., the daughter of the late Virgil and Maude (Adams) Salyers.

Mrs. Adams worked at the Friendly Village Inn and the Leesburg Dairy Bar for many years, and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  

She is survived by three children, Jim (Connie) Adams of Hillsboro, Cathy (Chris) Thompson of Michigan and Paul (Sue) Salyers of Grayson, Ky.; five grandchildren, Mike (Ashley), Bonnie (Mike), Jason (Ash), Hillary, and Howard (Debra); twelve great grandchildren; four sisters, Esta (Gary) Pennington, Lucy (Jerry) Miles, Judy (Hobert) Hignite, and Hester (Ronnie) Oney; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leo H. Adams, who passed away Feb. 23, 2001; as well as siblings Edna McAninich, Jack, Roylee, Charles, Howard, Lowell, Everett, Donald and Larry Salyers.  

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Lloyd Shoemaker will officiate.  

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Blood Cancer United, P.O. Box 98016, Washington, D.C. 20090-8018, or the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas, 66675-8516.
