Harvey L. Eberg

It is with both heavy hearts and a celebratory spirit that we announce the passing of Harvey L. Eberg, 80, of Leesburg, who left us on May 11, 2026.

Born on April 9, 1946, in Dayton, Harvey dedicated his life to his passions and family, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished forever.

A passionate musician and entrepreneur, Harvey owned Whiskey River Music, where he brought joy to countless customers through his deep love of music. His store was more than just a business; it was a gathering place for those who shared his enthusiasm for the art. His legacy in the music community will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his contributions to music, Harvey served his country honorably in the United States Army. His service reflects his dedication and commitment not only to his nation but also to the ideals of community and family.

Harvey was not only a beloved husband to his devoted wife, Karen (Hansen) Eberg; but also a proud father to Gretchen (Dwayne) Wright; grandfather to Zachary Grimes, Sierra (Skylar) Mills and Savannah (David) Self; and great-grandfather to Liara Grimes and six other great-grandchildren. His commitment to family was unwavering, and he took immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren, sharing with them his love of music and life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Elfreda (Lewis) Eberg, Jr.; a brother, Dan Eberg; and a sister, Naida Noble.

A celebration of life will be noon-2p.m. Saturday, May 16 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Military rites will be conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.

Harvey L. Eberg will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to resonate through the melodies he loved and the family he adored.
