Grace Wahnita Anderson
Grace Wahnita Anderson, 77, passed away peacefully on Oct. 23, 2025.
Wahnita grew up on the Wylie dairy farm in Seaman, where she learned the values of hard work, faith and family. One of three daughters, she worked like the son her parents never had – helping to put up hay, milk cows and raise crops.
She met the love of her life, William F. "Bill" Anderson, and they were married in August 1968, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with devotion, humor and steadfast love. Wahnita graduated from the Deaconess School of Nursing in Cincinnati in 1969 and dedicated her life to caring for others. Throughout her long nursing career, she served as a surgical nurse, emergency room nurse, home health care nurse and as the director of nursing at a nursing home. Even after retiring, she never stopped being a nurse – always tending to those in need with compassion and strength.
Wahnita poured her heart into raising her children and was deeply devoted to her family. She was known for her caring, her strong work ethic and her ability to bring comfort to those in need wherever she went. Wahnita's life was a testament to love, service and perseverance. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she cherished.
Wahnita was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edgar and Una (Simmons) Wylie, and Frank and Grace (Main) Kelley; her parents, Howard and Mary (Kelley) Wylie; and her beloved children, Robert "Bobby" Anderson and Marcia Anderson.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William F. "Bill" Anderson; her children, Mary (Anderson) Carson and William "Billy" Anderson, and their spouses, Brad Carson and Heather (West) Anderson; her grandchildren, Haden Anderson and his wife, Emily, Olivia Anderson, Amelia Carson and Xavier Carson; and her great-grandchildren, Margot Anderson and Arlan Anderson.
