Gerald Wayne “Jerry” Jones, 79, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025 at home.
 
He was born Aug. 4, 1945 in Springfield, the son of Donald and Margaret (Meredith) Jones.
 
He was a 1963 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and attended Buckskin Community Church in South Salem. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sports events.
 
He recently retired from Jones Refrigeration and Electric Service where he was the owner/operator since 1975, and was also a dealer for Patz Corporation farm equipment.  
 
He is survived by his wife, Connie Jo (Compton) Jones, whom he married on Dec. 29, 1962; two daughters, Jodi (Todd) Ralph of Greenfield and Marci (David) Reeves of Leesburg; one son, Barry (Mandy) Jones of South Salem; seven grandchildren, Jerrod (Alycia) Ralph, Jordan (Kristin) Ralph, Noah Reeves, AnnaJo Reeves (Robbie Wise), Nathan (Emily) Mess, Wyatt (Sydney) Jones and Emily Jones (Jason Sommer); five great-grandchildren, Violet, Genevieve, and Teddy Ralph, Nolan and Grace Mess; one brother, Edward Jones of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.  
 
He was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, Julie Ann; one brother, Glenn Jones; one sister, Jeannie Taylor; and both parents.
 
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 10 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Mark Current officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
