George R. “Bob” Sturgeon, 79, of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022 at his home.
He was born Dec. 23, 1942, in Madeira, the son of the late Fred and Florence (Wilson) Sturgeon.
He was a member of the Marshall Church of Christ and was a truck driver for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. “Sandy” (Rowe) Sturgeon; children, Kenneth (Kim) Sturgeon and Sharon (Darrell) Holbrook, both of Rainsboro, Robert (Olivia) Sturgeon of Arizona and Tammy (Keith) Pruett of Hillsboro; 11 grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Fred Sturgeon Jr.
Funeral service will be Friday, Oct. 14, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Marvin Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Leesburg. Visitation will be Friday from noon until time of the service at the funeral home.
