Garry (Deke) Dickey, 75, of Madisonville, Tenn., passed away quickly and painlessly Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022 at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn. after a courageous fight.
He was born in Cincinnati to the late Frank and Phyllis Dickey. He grew up in Hillsboro and was drafted into the Army in 1967. He worked for Ohio Bell/Ameritech for 33 years.
Deke is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Rowell Dickey; his two children, Doug and Darren (Chasity); his 10 grandchildren, Jess (Jake), Megan (Richard), Mallory (Tyler), Clair, Kyle (Anna), Genny, Jasmine (Logan), Azalia, Maclaya and Camilla; his great-granddaughter, Misa Rae; his siblings, Frank, Larry and Bonnie; mother-in-law, Avanelle Rowell; and his two brothers-in-law, Scott Rowell and Bryan Rowell. He was loved and will be missed by all his family and friends.
Private services will be held for family only with arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, Tenn.
