Erna Margareta Howard, 88, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at UC Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 21, 1936 in Leinburg, Germany, the daughter of the late Martin Vogel and Kunigunde Preissinger Vogel.

Erna loved gardening and flowers and doing anything outside. In the past, she attended New Vienna United Methodist Church.

Erna is survived by her daughter, Laura Korin Howard of Wilmington; grandson, Levi Dillon Howard; brother, Erich Vogel of Germany; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim Howard, Kenny Howard, Catherine Mahanes, and Sharon Shaw; multiple nieces and nephews; and best friend, Brigitte Bolin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Berlin Howard; siblings, Louise Weghorn and Hans Vogel; and brothers-in-law, Jack, Pete, John, David, and Raymond Howard.
