Emma Jean (Smith) Puckett
Emma Jean (Smith) Puckett, 88, of Hillsboro, formerly of the Sinking Spring community, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025 at the Hospice of Hope in Seaman.
She was born Sept. 27, 1937 in Pike County to the late Walter Earl and Nita Merle (Locke) Smith.
Emma loved her Lord and Savior and her family. She also loved raising flowers in her many flowerbeds. Watching and feeding her many kinds of birds and keeping their feeders full year-round. She enjoyed singing all the time, whether to her grandchildren, in her flower gardens or church. One of the most fulfilling things was playing softball with her kids or the neighborhood kids at Fort Hill with family reunions.
Emma is survived by her husband, Harry Austin (Jack) Puckett of over 70 years of marriage; her seven children, Alan Puckett, David Puckett, Jackie (Rick) Seeling, Eddy (Deanna) Puckett, Jeana (Bruce) Dean, Jana (Randy) Wigington and Dirk Puckett; 65 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded by her nine siblings, Etta Faye, Bud, Eleanor, Harry, Earl, Armetha, Maxine, Jim and John; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be noon Monday, Oct. 13 at the Grace Bible Church in Sinking Spring. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sinking Spring.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the church.
