Elsie Mae Everetts, 90, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 17, 2025. 

She was born Aug. 31, 1934, in Waverly, the daughter of the late William Richard and Junie (Snider) Skidmore. 

She was a member of the Rainsboro United Methodist Church and later attended the Rainsboro Church of Christ. Elsie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Elsie was very engaged in the church, teaching Sunday school and Bible school, in addition to running the food pantry for many years. 

Elsie is survived by two daughters, Deborah (David) Ellison and Linda Kelch, both of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Andrea (Scott) Anderson and Chad (Jamie) Peabody; and three great-grandchildren, Harley Peabody, Hunter Peabody and Gavin Anderson.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Maxine Roberts; her brother, Homer Skidmore; and her beloved husband, Ernest Glenn Everetts, who passed away on May 23, 2000.  

A graveside service for friends and family will be held at noon on Tuesday, July 22 in the Gilboa Cemetery with Jeff Satterfield officiating.
