Donald Franklin Terry, 90, of Washington C.H., passed away peacefully Sunday, March 23, 2025 at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington C.H.

He was born Jan. 23, 1935 in Raleigh County, W.Va. to the late Dewey and Thelma (Webb) Terry. He was a 1952 graduate of Trap Hill High School in West Virginia.

Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army. After receiving his honorable discharge, he started work at White-Westinghouse in Columbus, from which he retired, and later worked in concrete and construction. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spending time with his family, and he was a fan of Elvis Presley and the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Survivors include his longtime partner of 43 years, Cathy Forsha; children, Sonya (Vonnie) Downey, Sheila (Robin) Armentrout and Stephen (Caitlin) Forsha; grandchildren, Annie (Stephen) Kendall, Derek (Rubie) Hottinger and Breanna Hottinger and her fiancé, Gary Daugherty; great-grandchildren, Roland, Alexandria, Landon, Aayden, Logan, Leilah, Evan, Branden and Jeremiah; and siblings, Bessie Bass, Harold (Sue) Terry, Ronnie (Jane) Terry and Gregory (Sandy) Terry. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his siblings, Jimmy Terry, Bobby Terry, Louise Farmer, Jessie Cochran, Mabel Showalter, Willa Mae Kimball and Bill Terry; and his best friend, Frankie Verderano.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
