David H. Myers
David H. Myers, 74, of Hillsboro, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2025.
David was born on Feb. 21, 1950 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Roy H. Myers and Donnabel (Palmer) Bate.
David was a 1968 graduate of Blanchester High School. He received his B.S. and M.S. from Eastern Kentucky University. After graduation, he taught physical education in Logan County, W. Va. for several years. He returned to Hillsboro where he managed Red Dot Sports, Haines Department Store and retired from the Highland County Alternative School. David was very active in the community where he served as Hillsboro City Councilman, Hillsboro Jaycees and Hillsboro Elks 361.
David was a member of the Hillsboro Global Methodist Church since 1976. He sang in the church choir and the Gospel Group Horizon and was also active in the Chrysalis and Emmaus communities. David was very happy, outgoing, fun-loving and his favorite quote was "I'm too blessed to be depressed."
On Aug. 12, 1972, he was united in marriage to Marilyn J. (Brumbaugh) Myers, who survives. They were blessed with two sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin Myers of Cleveland and Craig and Becky Myers of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; four loving grandchildren, Colin, Cara, Sam and Matthew; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Nancy Myers of Bradenton, Fla.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harry and Judy Brumbaugh of Blanchester; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Hillsboro Global Methodist Church.
Dr. Rev. Derek Russell will officiate services with burial following in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
