David Frank Thompson, 99, of Sabina, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Soin Medical Center-Kettering Health in Beavercreek.
He was born May 1, 1925 in Pike County, the son of James W. and Mary (Rhoades) Thompson.
He enjoyed fishing, mushroom, ginseng and squirrel hunting. He was a former employee of Cox Paving and worked in road construction all of his life.
He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Warnock of Sabina; stepdaughter, Joyce (Jim) Fettro of Hillsboro; daughter-in-law, Kim Thompson of Rainsboro; five grandchildren, Tammy (Jamie) King, Teresa (Blake) Baker, Bruce (Tara) Thompson, Tommy (Jennifer) Warnock, Davey (Misty) Warnock; four step grandchildren; Steve Fettro, Heath Fettro; Sheryl (Brian) Fluegeman; Angela Fettro; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including Jim Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Mae (Massie) Thompson on March 23, 1988; one infant daughter, Janet Thompson; two sons, Billy Thompson, Randy Thompson; one son-in-law, Ed Warnock; one grandson, Scott Thompson; one granddaughter, Elisha Warnock; three brothers, John Thompson, Harold Thompson, Fay Thompson; one sister, Florence Waulk; and both parents.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 28 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the New Fain Cemetery near Latham.
Visitation will be 11: a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
