Clifford W. “Cliff” Wilson, 92 of Hillsboro, died of natural causes on July 24, 2025 at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati.
Cliff was born Aug. 20, 1932 in Chillicothe, Missouri to William and Juanita (Street) Wilson.
Cliff was an Aircraft and Power Plant Mechanic with Braniff International Airlines for twenty-seven years and traveled the world with Braniff. While there, he received the Braniff President’s Award for his service running the maintenance program for the Military Airlift Command (MAC) during the Vietnam War.
After Braniff closed in 1982 he was a Regional Manager, Southeast Airport Planning/Properties, Aircraft Support with Airborne Express until his retirement in 1999. Cliff served in the United States Air Force from August 1951-November 1955.
Cliff loved his family, Harleys, airplanes, fishing, his beloved pets and just being home after all his travels.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Rita (Wimberly) Wilson, whom he married on April 3, 1975 in Cheyenne, Wyo. He is also survived by his son, David Moore of Atlantic Beach, Fla., son, Larry Wilson (and his wife Jill Wilson) of Beaufort, S.C., daughter Leslie Heyd of Hillsboro; and his sister, Carol Vorbeck of Blue Springs, Missouri. He is also survived by his two granddaughters, Sarah Cardona (and her husband Dari Cardona) of Jackson, Fla. and Abigal Baez (and her husband Denny Baez) of Sneads Ferry, N.C. Cliff was blessed with four beautiful great-grandchildren, Candice Moore, Valerie Cardona, Charley Baez and Anders Baez. He is also survived by special friends Jennifer Bradley and Bryson Dotson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald; his grandsons, Nicholas Moore, Matthew Heyd and Charles William Wilson; son-in-law, Paul Heyd; and brother-in-law, Richard Vorbeck.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of his family.
