Charles ‘Charlie’ Edward Davis Sr., 84, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati with his family by his side.
He was born Oct. 6, 1938 in Cynthiana, the son of the late William Davis and Rachel Catherine Jenkins Davis.
Charlie was a truck driver for many years and described as a people person. He enjoyed being around others, always striking up a conversation with anyone. Charlie loved country music. He would travel to the Red Barn or the Jamboree in the Hills to hear a good concert. Charlie loved to watch Westerns and was a jokester, always trying to get someone to laugh. He was a member of the Highland Lodge #38 F&AM and had been a member of the Bainbridge Senior Citizens.
Charlie is survived by his children, William (Bridgette) Davis of Bourneville, Charles “Chuck” (Tracy) Davis Jr. of Frankfort, Vicki (Gary) Minzler of Hillsboro and Christy (Jeff) Crites of Hillsboro; daughter-in-law, Lora Davis of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Betty Wigginton of Leesburg, Robert (Thelma) Davis of Cynthiana and Floyd “Boone” Davis of Chillicothe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Maxine Elliott Davis, and second wife, Carolyn McCallister Davis; sons, Stephen R. Davis and Richard Davis; grandson, Jeremy Davis; step-grandson, Bradley Kinnett; and brothers, William Davis, James Davis and John Davis.
A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family. Turner & Son Funeral Home is serving the family.
