Catherine Mary Hayes Helton Sader, 88, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025 in Lexington, S.C. 

She was born Nov. 8, 1936 in Norwood, the daughter of the late Norman Clarence and Mary Crowley Hayes. 

Cathy had been an administrative assistant for many years and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was an avid bowler and volunteered at Highland District Hospital.  

She is survived by five children, David Helton of Milwaukee, Wis., Diane Beckett of  Lexington, S.C., Elaine (Tom) Lorinczi of Schaumburg, Ill., Ellen Helton of Hillsboro and Lia Sader of Franklin, Wis.; six grandchildren, Robert (Yukiko) Helton, Steven (Danielle) Helton, Kyle (Alison) Beckett, Sean Beckett, Quinten (Perla) Lorinczi and Erin (Nathan) Haist; 12 great-grandchildren, Roy, Emma, Charlotte, Davis, Callan, Isabella, Edward, Connor, Aileen, Stefan, Kai, and Lily; as well as many friends in Wisconsin.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert W. Helton; her second husband, Florian I. Sader; four brothers, Norman, Patrick, John and Daniel Hayes; and two sisters, Margaret Wagner and Theresa Truesdell.  

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 18 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Father Michael Paraniuk will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.  

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

A luncheon will immediately follow services at the St. Mary Catholic Church fellowship hall. The family encourages all who attend to wear bright colors.
