Bonnie Gale Armstrong, 81 of Leesburg, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026 at Clinton Memorial Hospital.  

She was born May 6, 1944 in Maysville, Ky., the daughter of Elmo Walker, Sr. and Gladys (Mullikin) Walker.  

Bonnie attended both the former Samantha Free Will Baptist Church and the Northview Baptist Church, and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  

She is survived by her husband Richard E. “Gene” Armstrong; two daughters, Daphanie (Michael) Elmore of Hillsboro and Normanda “Mandie” (Tracy) Workman of Martinsville; five grandchildren, Richard (Andi) Miller, Erika (Rick) Crabtree, Alicia (Thomas) Couch, Jessica (Cory) Fearon and Travis Elmore; 13 great-grandchildren, Kylah, Adilynn, Kam, Zeke, Dylan, Hannah, Aubery, Harper, Harland, Emma, Axian, Alyssa and Silas; three stepdaughters, Karen, Janet and Patricia; a stepson, David; siblings, Geneva (John), June, Hazel (Kenny), Judy, Theresa (Ronnie Sr.), Marvin (Carol), Charlie (Wendy) and Phister; her special friend, Donna Williamson; as well as many nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Elmo Walker, Sr. and Roena Walker; her mother, Gladys Shelton; brothers, Elmo (Sue) Walker, Jr. and Clint “Buck” Walker; her sister, Janet Walker; two nephews, Dade Walker and Doug Walker; and her niece, Linda Sue Dishno.   

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro, when a funeral service will begin. Chad Watson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens.
