Barbara Rose Davis
Barbara Rose Davis, 88, of West Chester, passed away March 18, 2025.
She was born Aug. 16, 1936 in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Louis Joseph and Helen Delores (Collins) Pfeffer.
She was the youngest and last of 19 siblings, Anna Louis Mohr, Gertrude Magdelina Swisshelm, Frances Marcella Manion, Christine Therese Devine, Leo Samuel Pfeffer, Patrick Collins Pfeffer, John William Pfeffer, Mary Angela Pfeffer, Martha Ann Pfeffer, Bernard Thomas Pfeffer, Joseph Anthony Pfeffer, Ignatius Richard Pfeffer, Helen Delores Wisecup, Richard Michael Pfeffer, Jane Frances Woodmansee, Donald Aloysius Pfeffer, Roger Michael Pfeffer and Elizabeth Ann Mayer.
A 1954 graduate of Hillsboro High School, she embraced life as a devoted housewife, pouring her heart into her family and home. Known for her terrific sense of humor, Barbara had a witty personality that brought joy to those around her. She was a talented artist whose creations reflected her vibrant spirit. Barbara treasured her time with family, which included her beloved husband, Robert Dale Davis, whom she married Oct. 20, 1956. They were blessed with their loving children, Andrew M. (Kathleen) Davis of Lebanon, Robert Andrew (Saundra Frodien) Davis of Gross Pointe Park, Mich., Nancy Ann Bronson of Hutchinson Island, Fla. and Juliann Davis of Miamisburg. She was a grandmother to Stephen (Marissa Sprague Simpson) Davis, Joseph Davis, Andrea Marie (Hazem Zureiqat) Bronson, Sean Michael (Camila) Bronson, Jessica Nicole (Daniel Leviyev) Bronson, Michael Geoffrey (Julia) Bronson and Matthew Davis; as well as her great-grandchildren, Najla, Sumaya, and Nora; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
An avid Catholic, Barbara lived her faith with sincerity, drawing strength from her community and her deep connection to God. She will be remembered not only for her artistic talents, but also for her ability to light up a room with her laughter and joy. Barbara's spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the public viewing at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 5720 Hamilton-Mason Road, Liberty Township, Ohio 45011, on Monday, March 24 from 10-11 a.m. A Mass celebrating Barbara's life will be follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Graveside service will be 4 p.m. Monday, March 24 in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro.
