Arline Ann (Steiner) Janssens, 81, who was born in New York City and recently became a resident of Hillsboro, passed away Oct. 4, 2022.
Arline loved children, both those who are family and friends in the neighborhoods where she lived. Arline retired as an operations employee of MetLife, having transferred from their New York City headquarters to their data processing center in Wichita, Kan., where she met her husband, Randy. She was also a consumer loan analyst for Bank of America in Wichita following her MetLife retirement.
People knew where they stood with Arline; she was honest and straightforward. Arline was also very giving, without expecting return, and dedicated to supporting her family and friends.
Arline is survived by her husband of 40 years, Randy; sons, Charles and Corey; four grandchildren, Charles, Donna, Lorrie and Ruby; three sisters, Diane Alini, Jackie Berman and Dorothy Sangiamo; caring nephews and nieces; loving cousins; and her friend and “soul sister” Cindy Stone, among many other friends and co-workers she loved. She had another soul sister, Carol Krejci, who passed away in October 2004, and she had special feelings for Cindy’s daughters Kelsey Hartsel and Taryn Stone.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Steiner; and mother, Mary (Kostiw) Steiner.
Arline’s favorite charity was Boys Town (www.boystown.org; 14100 Crawford Street, Boys Town, Neb. 68010). Donations to Boys Town that honor Arline are welcome.
