Ann Lucille Everetts

Ann Lucille Everetts, 92, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully on Aug. 19, 2026, surrounded by family.

Ann was born Aug. 31, 1933 to the late Ray and Anna (Smittle) Smart. 

Ann was a 1951 graduate of Hillsboro High School. Ann stayed busy throughout her life, helping on the family farm while also employed for more than 25 years with the Highland County Clerk of Courts. Following her retirement, she spent several years working as secretary for the Hillsboro Church of Christ.

Ann was devoted to helping others and sharing God's love throughout her life. She served on the Coss Cemetery Board and was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ where she was a member of THEO. Ann was also a member of the Highland County Antique Machinery Club and the Highland County Toy Tractor Club. She was active in the Farm Bureau Council and Senior Citizens, where she enjoyed the fellowship and friendships she formed over the years.

Family was at the center of Ann's life. She treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren and rarely missed an opportunity to attend their many activities and milestones. She also enjoyed camping, traveling and gathering with friends and family and she especially loved playing cards. 

Ann leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, friendship and service. She is survived by two daughters, Deanna (Larry) Lyons and Debbie (Bill) Couch; grandchildren, Derrick (Maggie) Lyons, Donica (Scott) Haines, Darci (Bruce) Miles, Jenny (Mike) Kelly, Devon (Ben) Radant, Scott (Erika) Couch, and Kim (Kyle) Hess; great-grandchildren, Zander Lyons, Breslyn Lyons, Reaghan (Ryan) Hagan, Britton (Hope) Haines, Brock Haines, Ramsey Haines, Addyson Miles, Kobie Miles, Hudson Kelly, Mason Kelly, Ella Radant, Lyla Radant; and three great-great-grandchildren, Nolan Hagan, Niall Hagan and Kolston Haines; brother-in-law Donnie Everetts; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her siblings, Mildred Rothwell, Ellen Hite, Mabel Rolfe and John Smart; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Barbara Newman; sister-in-law, Evelyn Everetts; and her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 70 years, Dean Everetts, whom she married on March 8, 1952.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery.
