Andrew Dale “Andy” Mackan, 47 of Highland, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2025 at the Miami Valley Hospital.  

He was born Nov. 9, 1977 in Greenfield, the son of the late Edward Mackan and Mary L. (Morris) Mackan Brown.  

Andy had a huge heart and generous soul and would do anything for anyone in need. He was currently serving on the Highland Village Council as well as the Caesar’s Creek Flea Market Council. 

He is survived by his stepfather, Allen P. Brown; his companion, Tammy Everetts Meredith; two brothers, Chris Mackan and Tim Mackan; step-siblings, Donald Stroop, Jerry (Clara) Stroop, Larry (Diane) Stroop, Terry (Tammy) Stroop, Chris Brown, Kipp (Jackie) Brown and Danielle Thompson; two uncles, Rick Morris and Danny (Beth) Morris; as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.  

He will be greatly missed. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Riley and Mike Mackan.  

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. A funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 7 p.m. Pastor Mark Armstrong will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
