Alicia H. Burton
Alicia H. Burton, 88, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully on Sept. 29, 2026 at Hospice of Hope Inpatient Center at Adams County Regional Medical Center.
She was born the daughter of the late Richard and Doris (Heistand) Hilliard on Dec. 27, 1937 in Wilmington.
Alicia was a loving and outgoing person who enjoyed staying busy and being around others. She worked for 30 years at Hillcrest Pharmacy and later continued her career at Lucas Pharmacy. Alicia was proud to have earned her bachelor’s degree in Merchandising from Columbia University. Known for her quick-moving nature and energetic personality, Alicia was always on the go. She was very social and loved talking with people, making friends wherever she went.
She cherished her family and treasured the time she spent with them. Alicia also enjoyed going out dancing and having a good time. Alicia was a loyal Cincinnati Red’s fan who never wanted to miss watching a game, she also enjoyed cheering on the Bengals. She will be remembered for her lively spirit, love of people, and the many lives she touched throughout the years.
Alicia married David “Dave” Burton on March 28, 1978 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; the two enjoyed many fishing trips, always sneaking away for a fishing trip together whenever possible. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Risa (Larry) Armstrong of Wilmington, Shelley (Jeff) Patton of Hillsboro and Richard (Renee) Stout of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Jason Grimm, Chelsea Boone, Brynna Boone, Travis (Elisha) Hill, Stacy (Tim) Hamilton, and Andrew (Callie) Stout; great grandchildren, Landon, Alaina, Alicia, Grayson, Aubree, Evelyn, and Aubry; brothers and sisters-in-law, Barbara Ertle, Marlin Burton, Charlie Burton, Milt Burton, Mike Burton, Ruth Smith, Jamie Burton and Mary Hegner; many nieces and nephews; and friends, Albert Mantz, George McClanahan, and Les Stout.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, John Burton, Janette Tinniges and Steve Burton; and mother and father-in-law, Opal and Jesse Burton.
Services for Alicia will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Alicia will be laid to rest at Troutwine Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in Alicia’s name to Hospice of Hope at www.hospiceofhope.org. Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
