Wilmington Post investigating 2-vehicle fatal crash

Wilmington – The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash involving a John Deere combine. The crash occurred on Oct. 10 at approximately 4:13 p.m. on state Route 350 near mile post 1 in Vernon Township Clinton County.

The preliminary investigation showed that a 2017 Ford Flex operated by Heather Hadley, 48, of Goshen, was traveling southeast on state Route 350. A 2012 John Deere S680 combine operated by Lester Kilburn, 40, of Morrow was traveling northwest on state Route 350. The Ford drove left of center and struck the John Deere Combine head-on. 

Heather Hadley was pronounced deceased on scene. Lester Kilburn sustained no injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Wilmington Joint Fire and EMS, Clarksville EMS, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, Clinton County Coroner’s Office, Clinton County ODOT, and Case Towing and Recovery.

The crash remains under investigation.
