Wilmington OSHP Post investigating fatal crash in Clinton County

WILMINGTON – The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash. The crash occurred on March 17 at approximately 8:56 a.m. on Second Creek Road at Tar Pike in Marion Township, Clinton County. 

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2011 John Deere 7230R operated by Chad M. Florea,34, of Blanchester, was traveling northwest on Tar Pike. A 2013 Chevrolet Traverse operated by Shelby L. Miller,27, of Wilmington, was traveling eastbound on Second Creek Road. Mr. Florea failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the vehicle operated by Ms. Miller. 

Ms. Miller was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS. Mr. Florea was not injured. 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, and Blanchester Fire and EMS.

This crash remains under investigation by the Wilmington Post.
