Two Clinton County teens were killed in a weekend automobile accident on I-71 near the Fields Ertel Road exit.

According to WHIO Radio (www.newstalkradiowhio.com), Wilmington High School senior Matthew Thomas Shuttleworth and Southern State Community College student Olivia French died in the crash that occurred shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday.

The Ohio Highway Patrol said Danica McLester, 19, of Wilmington, was driving a 2005 Chrysler Concord when she traveled off the right side of the interstate, struck a sign post, overturned and came back onto the interstate, ejecting two occupants.

McLester suffered serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital in Cincinnati.

Derek Jones, 22, also of Wilmington, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Bethesda North Hospital, WHIO reported.

The Smith and Son Funeral Home in Wilmington is handling arrangements for Mr. Shuttleworth and Ms. French.[[In-content Ad]]
