Retired teachers to meet Aug. 24

The Highland County Retired Teachers Association (HCRTA) will meet on Monday, Aug. 24 at noon at the Freedom Trail Ministry and Campground in Greenfield. This is the former Chautauqua Park area. 

All retired educators are invited to attend the meeting. The meeting will feature a complete meal on the USA 250th anniversary theme and the cost is the usual $14 per person.

The program will be a presentation about the US Flag Code and the proper use of the flag. It will also include an explanation of the symbolism of the POW/MIA Missing Man Table. Major Morrow will present this program. 

He is a veteran in the Highland County Honor Guard and active in various Veterans groups. In addition, 

Ms. Lilly Waddle, the Certified Ombudsman Volunteer Coordinator for the Ohio Department of Aging, will present information related to Nursing homes, long term care, and group home assistance. 

The service project for this meeting is the “Support Our Troops Highland County.” Scholarship and other donations, meal reservations, and any dues payments should be sent to Leone Bihl at Box 875, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133 or call her at 937-393-3913.
