OSH Patrol investigating school bus Crash with injuries in Adams County
GEORGETOWN – The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a single vehicle school bus crash that occurred on state Route 125 on May 14 at approximately 6:30 a.m. in Tiffin Township, Adams County.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2018 Thomas Built school bus from the Adams County Ohio Valley School District was being driven westbound on state Route 125 by Russell Ricketts Jr., 30, from Manchester.
The vehicle drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert, an embankment, and a large rock prior to coming to final rest. The bus was transporting 16 students at the time of the crash. Thirteen of the 16 students on board the bus received medical treatment at local medical facilities for minor non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the bus was also treated for minor injuries. Parents were notified of the crash by the Adams County Ohio Valley School District staff.
The crash remains under investigation by the Georgetown Post.
Troopers on scene were assisted by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, West Union Fire and EMS, and Manchester Fire and EMS.
