Ohio State Highway Patrol OVI checkpoint results from Wilmington

Wilmington – The Ohio State Highway Patrol, with assistance from the Wilmington Police Department and the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, conducted an OVI checkpoint on U.S. 22 in the city of Wilmington, Clinton County on Aug. 16. A total of 617 vehicles were checked with one vehicle being diverted for suspicion of OVI.

No drivers were determined to be under the influence or were arrested for OVI.

In addition to the actual checkpoint officers, additional officers from participating agencies conducted saturation patrols in the area before and after the checkpoint.

Federal grant money supported the OVI checkpoint and saturation patrols.
