Ohio State Highway Patrol investigating fatal traffic crash

Georgetown – The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a single-vehicle traffic crash involving one fatality. The crash occurred on Friday, March 27 at approximately 4:18 p.m. on S.R. 32 at milepost 6 in Brown County. 

The vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, was being operated by 64-year-old Douglas Srofe of Williamsburg when it drove off the right side of the roadway and through the right-of-way fence. The vehicle continued through a field, eventually striking a tree and overturning. Mr. Srofe was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

There were no other vehicles involved, and there were no passengers in Mr. Srofe’s vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
