Ohio State Highway Patrol investigating fatal crash in Fayette County

Jeffersonville – The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash. The crash occurred on May 9, 2025 at approximately 11:09 A.M. on Prairie Rd at State Route 734 in Paint Township, Fayette County.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2003 Toyota Tacoma operated by Michael L. Brady, 74, of Jeffersonville, was traveling southeast on Prairie Road. A 2006 Buick Lacrosse operated by Stephanie D. Vulgamore, 21, of Bloomingburg, was traveling westbound on State Route 734. Mr. Brady failed to stop at the stop sign and was struck by
the vehicle operated by Ms. Vulgamore.

Mr. Brady was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS. Ms. Vulgamore had minor injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Fayette County EMS and Bloomingburg Fire Department.

This crash remains under investigation by the Wilmington Post.
