Ohio State Rep. Jarrod Martin, R-Beavercreek, is facing charges after being cited for alleged drunken driving, WHIO TV in Dayton reports.
The television news station reported that Martin said in a statement issued late Monday that he regrets the incident, which occurred Friday, July 22 in Jackson County.
"I take this matter very seriously and I look forward to the opportunity to vindicate myself in court," the lawmaker said.
This incident happened just days after State Rep. Robert Mecklenborg resigned on July 17 after a similar charge in Indiana.
Earlier this month, lawmakers announced plans to open a full-service bar in the Ohio Statehouse.
Martin is currently serving his second term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 70th House District, which includes the northwestern portion of Greene County.[[In-content Ad]]
